This sky blue beauty blooms from July to late October, often suffusing the fields in which it dwells with sweeps of delicious blue to sometimes violet.  A great pollinator plant for native bees, and smaller butterflies.  Conoclinium coelestinum is more common on the piedmont than on the coastal plain. It grows nicely in soils that range fro normal moisture to wet; full sun to part shade.
