Asclepias tuberosa is a milkweed species native to eastern North America. It is a perennial plant growing to 0.3–1 metre (10 in–3 ft 3 in) tall, with clustered orange or yellow flowers. It is the most flamboyant of our milkweeds and is a joy to behold. Our seed grown local varieties are a deeper orange than many. Monarchs do love them, and will often nibble them down to their stems, but fear not, they will regrow.
They resent root disturbance, so plant them carefully!
