The Shinseiki Pear is one of the hardiest Asian pear varieties. The upright, spreading tree flowers profusely in the early spring, and produces delicious, firm and juicy yellow fruit in the late summer. In the fall, the leaves produce a vibrant orange-red display.
The yellow round pears with white flesh are usually ready for picking in late summer. The pears have a sweet taste and a crisp textures. They are best for eating fresh.
The trees are self fertile, so you need only one for pollination and fruit production. This is a great orchard tree for home gardens because it's relatively small, growing only eight to ten feet tall.
